Rumors of future Ducati’s have only been expanding in recent months but in comments made by Ducati’s marketing chief concerning the Strada Aperta Adventure tourer and possible scooter concepts it was revealed that Ducati is backing away from the Vyper Performance cruiser concept.
Ducati are on a roll lately. They followed up the disastrous 999 with the smash hit 1098, revamped the Monster line and have just launched the Streetfighter not to mention updating the 1098 to the 1198. A Spy Shot of a clay mock-up reported by Motorcycle News seems to add further credence to the rumor that Ducati really is going to produce a power cruiser for their increasingly important US market in the vein of the Yamaha V-Max and Harley Davidson V-Rod.
Motorcyclenews appears to be about to confirm the rumor that Ducati will enter the Power Cruiser market with a 1,400cc testastretta powered machine called the Vyper after posting a teaser on their website today which was rapidly removed.
Even as the Streetfighter is being launched, the Ducatista are being teased with another potential model, the Ducati Vyper which appears to be an entrant into the burgeoning power cruiser market perhaps exemplified best by the Harley Davidson V-Rod and and the Yamaha V-Max.
