Marlboro Ducati’s Nicky Hayden shrugged off recent arm surgery to set the 3rd fastest time at the second Sepang 2010 MotoGP pre-season test that completed today. Hayden who failed to perform to the standard he expected of himself in 2009 seems to be clicking with the revised ‘big bang’ style Ducati Desmosedici GP10.

The MotoGP circus for 2010 is off with the Ducati racers getting the first official taste of their new machines today at Sepang, Malaysia. Yesterday the bikes were in action but with only official testers on board. Nicky Hayden and Casey Stoner were looking good on their Ducati Desmosedici GP10’s!

Former Ducati World Superbike team manager, Davide Tardozzi has not let a sense of nationalism cloud his judgement when it comes to rating motorcycle racers. Tardozzi rates Austalian and 2007 MotoGP Champion, Casey Stoner, as the best rider in MotoGP ranking him ahead of even reigning champion Valentino Rossi.

Ducati has unveiled its GP10 MotoGP racer at the Madonna di Campiglio ski resort in Italy. The factory believes that they have a great chance of sticking it to the all conquering factory Yamahas this year with the new big bang engine and an improving Nicky Hayden and a healthy Casey Stoner at the controls.

After two impressive substitute rides on the Pramac Ducati MotoGP machine, former 125 and 250 rider Aleix Espargaro will ride fulltime for the satellite Ducati squad in 2010. With that seat tied up there will be no Italians racing for Ducati for the first time in the company’s MotoGP history.
