The factory Ducati World Superbike squad have concluded 2 days of testing at Mugello ahead of this weekend’s German Round of the series at Nurburgring. The test was mostly used to shake the cobwebs out after the month long summer break.

Unlucky Team Xerox Ducati rider, Noriyuki Haga, had a dent put in his chances before opening his 2010 World Superbike campaign for Xerox Ducati in Phillip Island, Australia when BMW rider Ruben Xaus took him and his Ducati 1198R out at the very fast Turn 1 during morning warm-up.

Team Xerox Ducati kicked off their 2010 World Superbike Championship title chase at the 2nd fastest circuit of the series, Phillip Island in Australia. Both Michel Fabrizio and Noriyuki Haga stood on the podium but it was first time pole sitter Leon Haslam who took his maiden victory on the Alstare Suzuki GSX-R1000.

New Althea Ducati hire, Carlos Checa posted the fastest time during the first day of official testing for the 2010 World Superbike Championship season at Phillip Island, Australia, site of next week’s opening round. Checa is taking well to the V-twin and in fact Ducati took 3 of the top 4 fastest times.
