In 2009, then Ducati Superbike racer Larry Pegram thought it would be fun to enter a Ducati Hypermotard powered flat tracker in the Indy Mile.  Now its for sale and could be yours if you have a spare 15 grand.

We first told you about Kurt Marmor’s Ducati 749 powered Flat Tracker in 2009. Back then the bike was being hurriedly prepared for the Springfield Mile. Typical teething troubles got in the way of a dream debut but Kurt is fired up for the 2011 season.

Cycle World magazine had the opportunity to test a bunch of flat trackers at the Arizona Mile including the Joe Kopp, Lloyd Brothers Ducati as ridden by Ducati’s own Nicky Hayden at the Indy Mile. The Ducati which is powered by a Hypermotard 1100EVO engine is first up in the video after the jump.

After qualifying 3rd for last weekend’s Indianapolis round of the MotoGP championship, Marlboro Ducati’s Nicky Hayden thrilled the crowd at the Indy mile by making some demonstration laps on the Llyoyd Brothers Ducati Flat Tracker.

This round case bevel drive flat tracker was displayed at a 1970′s motorcycle show by Berliner, the official US Ducati importer at the time. The bike was campaigned in the late 1970′s GNC Dirt Track circuit by Kenny McDonald and Steve Freeman.

Ducati celebrated its first ever Grand National Flat Track victory in Saturday’s Yavapai Downs Mile when Joe Kopp took his Ducati Hypermotard powered flat tracker to victory over the Harley hordes.
