Team Althea Ducati rider, Carlos Checa, showed that a privateer team can still win in the World Superbike Championship as he took victory in the 2nd race following the factory domination in the first race of the opening round of the series at Phillip Island, Australia.

Team Xerox Ducati kicked off their 2010 World Superbike Championship title chase at the 2nd fastest circuit of the series, Phillip Island in Australia. Both Michel Fabrizio and Noriyuki Haga stood on the podium but it was first time pole sitter Leon Haslam who took his maiden victory on the Alstare Suzuki GSX-R1000.

Ducati Dominance was the order of the day for the final pre-season testing of the 2010 World Superbike series at Phillip Island, Australia. Factory rider Michel Fabrizio was fastest overall, ahead of 3 other Ducati riders. Noriyuki Haga was 6th fastest making it 5 Ducatis in the top 6.
