The Ducati 848 is a great track bike but unlike the 748 and 749 before it, it is ineligible to compete in most race series around the world and certainly no series at the highest level. Now Ducati UK have announced the 848 Challenge over fifteen races, eight rounds and four world championship circuits.

Touring Sport Ducshop Ducati won their third consecutive Moto-GT2 Championship at the season finale AMA Pro SunTrust 8-hour endurance race at Daytona International Speedway yesterday on the # 77 Ducati PS1000LE. The team’s other PS1000LE (#38) finished third in the class, while its Ducati 848 scored third in the Moto-GT1 class.

Ducati North America has confirmed the rumors and announced the newest addition to its model range, the 848 Nicky Hayden Special Edition. The special edition 848 will be unveiled tomorrow, July 4th, at the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
