The sixth round of the 2013 World Superbike championship brought a solid result for Team SBK Ducati Alstare and rider Carlos Checa today at the Portimao circuit, with the Spanish rider closing race two in sixth position.

Max Biaggi today concluded an interesting two-day test on the Pramac Racing Team’s Ducati Desmosedici GP13 at the Mugello circuit. After being away from MotoGP racers for 8 years there was never any chance that Max would set any records.

As many enthusiastic supporters looked on from the Ducati Grandstand, both Ducati Team riders posted their best dry results of the year today at Mugello, with Andrea Dovizioso and Nicky Hayden riding their Desmosedici GP13 machines to fifth and sixth places, respectively, in the TIM Italian Grand Prix.

Pramac Racing’s Ben Spies return to MotoGP after a 5 week break was short lived as the American has decided to withdraw from this weekend’s Italian MotoGP due to continued weakness in his shoulder.

The Pramac Racing Ducati team is not having a good start to the season. Both of their riders have injuries with Ben Spies who didn’t race at Jerez to now miss Le Mans and Andrea Iannone to have surgery before the next race.
