Ducati have announced that they will unveil the 2012 livery for their factory MotoGP effort and the Ducati Desmosedici GP12 on the information superhighway (remember when it was called that?). Despite a negative weather forecast, the final day of the Sepang test was the only one of the three not affected by rain. Valentino Rossi stayed on the track until the last minute in order to complete as much work as possible for the Ducati engineers, who continue working on the development of the GP12. [...]
For the second day in a row, poor weather conditions affected the MotoGP test at Sepang International Circuit, where day two was interrupted by precipitation shortly after midday. The track surface didn’t dry, and the teams were forced to suspend their work and wait for tomorrow’s final day.
The second winter test in Sepang, Malaysia, began today, but the riders’ and technicians’ work schedule was affected first by a dirty track surface and later by rain. Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden nonetheless discovered a number of positive aspects in the shortened day.
The Ducati Test Team finished a three-day test today at Spain’s Circuito de Jerez. As usual, the activities were led by Filippo Preziosi, who followed the work schedule carried out by official test rider Franco Battaini.

Earlier this week HRC released an info graphic on their Twitter account comparing the performance of their World champion rider, Casey Stoner, and another former World Champion, Valentino Rossi and well, it all went downhill from there.
Nicky Hayden underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on the right shoulder that he had injured in late December. During the procedure, which was carried out in Fremont, California, and which lasted approximately 40 minutes, Dr Arthur Ting discovered and repaired a tear in the labrum.
Valentino Rossi underwent a small operation this morning at Cattolica’s Cervesi hospital to remove the rod that was inserted in his right tibia following his practice crash at the 2010 Mugello GP.
The appearance of the 40 day old Ducati GP12 MotoGP racer in Sepang, Malaysia was the cue for Ducatisti the world over to hold their breath. Would this almost entirely new machine produced over the winter be the platform that would allow Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden to move from zero to hero in 2012? [...]
