Ducati Panigale Tops Superstock 1000 Standings

Eddi La Marra

A second win in a row for Aussie Bryan Staring overshadowed what was a change at the front of the points leader board for the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup.  Barni Racing rider, Eddi La Marra brought his Ducati 1199 Panigale home in second place to take a 19 point lead in the series after 6 rounds.

Staring led from flag to flag in the very wet race and whilst La Marra never looked like overhauling the Australian and his Kawasaki, the Italian did close the gap during the course of the 12 lap race before Staring upped his pace further.

Sylvain Barrier struggled on his BMW dropping back through the field before being unceremoniously being knocked off.  The Frenchman has won 3 races this season but failed to finish a further 3 hurting his championship tilt.  He now sits 2nd in the title chase, 19 points behind La Marra with Staring a further 5 points adrift.
