In a video shot at Monza where Troy Bayliss was present to help celebrate 25 years of World Superbikes, Troy talks about how close he came to racing this year at Imola and Phillip Island as a wildcard on an Effenbert Racing Ducati.

  2. Why do I see Troy and Carlos next year on 1199s? Just listen to the guy, he knows he can and he wants to.

  4. What a class act Bayliss is.. I think he wasn’t really ready to retire when he did, I feel he did it out of love and respect for his family, ultimately that is more important than racing. But he clearly still has the burning desire to race, and obviously he has lost none of his skills. He has kept in race shape since retirement, and most importantly he knows he would still be competitive. I bet on a competitive bike he would easily finish on the podium, maybe win, if he went back to racing. Would love to see him and Checa on the Panigale in WSBK next year, even if it’s only for a couple races as a wildcard.
