The Ducati Test Team, directed by Technical Director Filippo Preziosi, has completed three days of testing on the Spanish circuit of Jerez de La Frontera, with Carlos Checa and Franco Battaini followed by in the pit garage by Team Manager, Vittoriano Guareschi.

Ducati has given its overhauled Desmosedici racer its first test ahead of the official MotoGP test scheduled for Sepang, Malaysia at the end of the month. In a closed test session at Jerez, riders Franco Battaini and World Superbike Champion Carlos Checa have put the new bike through its paces.

Valentino Rossi showed the Ferrari Formula 1 drivers that despite his recent slump in 2-wheel on track performance he was still a formidable talent on 4 wheels. Rossi wiped the floor with the F1 stars in the Kart race but could do no better than 2nd in the Fiat 500 event.

Despite an entire event ostensively all about their new Ducati GP12, Ducati Corse General Manager Felippo Preziosi went to great effort to say very little about what is expected to be an entirely new engine and chassis for Valentino Rossi’s and Nicky Hayden’s assault on the 2012 MotoGP title.

2011 World Superbike Champion, Carlos Checa, has concluded that Bridgestone tires are to blame for the woeful 2011 MotoGP season suffered by Ducati factory riders Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden. After testing the MotoGP racer, Carlos has stated that he believes the tires and not the chassis are the problem.
