Top Ducati Posts of 2011
As the year draws near a close we thought we’d check the logs to see what were some of the most read stories on Ducati News Today in 2011. Some of them were kind of obvious (I’m looking at you Panigale) whilst there were a couple of surprises. Read on to check out the top posts of 2011.
One of the problems with doing top awards is that posts that are the oldest have the biggest chance of getting boosted numbers from Google juice during the calendar year. Still, even with that caveat we were surprised at our most popular story, one about a Ducati that isn’t even available any more that played a bit part in a movie.
Ducati Sportclassic Stars in Tron Legacy was a big hit and the product placement proved just as successful for Ducati as we highlighted in Ducati Product Placement Pays Off.
You won’t be surprised that what became the Ducati 1199 Panigale was the source of much speculation. We tried to collect together in one place as much information as was available (or could reasonably be speculated upon) ahead of the launch in Radical Overhaul Planned for 2012 Ducati 1198 Successor and 2012 Superbike Boldly Goes Where No Ducati has Gone Before. Once the model was unveiled at the EICMA show in Milan readers were to check out what the bike looked like hence the interest in 2012 Ducati 1199 Superbike Photos and Ducati 1199 Panigale Photo Gallery.
One that still surprises us is this Wallpaper Wednesday: Ducati 1198S post that dates from 2009. What is the obsession with looking at Troy Bayliss grinding titanium into dust while throwing up sparks? Okay forget we asked that.
The Ducati Diavel proved a popular subject too and our Ducati Diavel Deep Dive was the most popular post on this model.
Customized Ducatis are always welcome on the site and the Shift-Tech Streetfighter topped the pile this year in particular the Wallpaper Wednesday: Ducati Streetfighter Special.
Then there are always a few posts that we enjoyed writing but didn’t get much traffic and this year they included The First Time BMW and Ducati Raced Superbikes and The Very First Ducati Cruiser.
