Ducati must have been nervous as they introduced the Diavel this year, the model most distant from its sportbike roots. It turns out they needn’t have worried with more than 1,000 sold in the US so far this year with the great majority of buyers coming from other brands.

As part of a visit to the Barber Vintage Festival and NCR DucStock I made sure to visit, once again, the simply awesome Barber Museum which showcases over 1200 modern and vintage motorcycles. As you might expect the collection features a number of Ducatis. Here are a bunch of them (and a Bimota).

MotoGP star Marco Simoncelli lost this life today after succumbing to injuries resulting from a crash on the second lap of the Sepang MotoGP race in Malaysia. The race was subsequently cancelled. The Ducati MotoGP team has released a statement which we reproduce after the jump.
