Home Grown Ducati 848R
Ever since Ducati launched the baby 848 Superbike, fans have wondered about upgraded S and R versions but none have been forthcoming. Given the entry level role of the 848 and the necessarily higher price an upgrade model would command there is just not enough room before you run into the 1198. That doesn’t stop some Ducatisti from building their own. Cue the Ducati Indianapolis 848R.
With 146bhp at the wheel this 1040cc née 848 has plenty of thunder to offer (this is more power than a 999R and about the same as the original 1098). Modifications include Custom Painted Armor Bodies inspired by the MotoGP Team, Carrazaria Forged Wheels along with the obligatory Ohlins Fork Internals and Ohlins TTX Rear Shock.
The engine is fully blue printed with the aforementioned 1040 kit, Lightened Crank, 1098 Pistal Pistons, Wet Slipper clutch, Full Termignoni exhaust, Quick Throttle, and Corrila Rods. Setup as a track day weapon it has already had its maiden voyage and importantly stayed sticky side down.
We have covered special 848′s before both a bespoke Ducati 848S and another custom 848R.
