Here’s your chance to own a bit of Ducati history – a World Superbike spec NCR Ducati 996RS raced between 1999 and 2000 by riders that included Ducati Hero Ben Bostrom. Bostrom’s performance on this bike in 2000 set him up for a factory Ducati seat in 2001.

Ducati opened its 2011 MotoGP yesterday with riders Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden finishing 7th and 9th respectively. Electricity and Gas producer Enel, one of the team sponsors supplied these shots from the Losail test in Qatar. Check them out after the jump.

Valentino Rossi battled a still recalcitrant Ducati and his slowly recovering shoulder to take 7th place in his Ducati MotoGP debut at Losail, Qatar on Sunday. In what was a disappointing day for Ducati fans both Pramac Ducatis went out early whilst Nicky Hayden finished 9th.

The official Ducati MotoGP team may have had an anticlimactic end to their pre-season but at least one Ducati Desmosedici GP11 pilot is on the pace. Valentino Rossi managed just the 13th fastest time at Losail with team mate Hayden in 9th but Pramac Ducatii’s Randy De Puniet set the 6th fastest time
