Concern about Valentino Rossi’s pace on the Ducati Desmosedici GP11 where he finished just 11th fastest in Sepang is unfounded according to former team-mate, Colin Edwards, who after following Rossi at close quarters doubts the multiple World Champion is showing his best riding yet.

Despite the travails over his mysterious 3 race hiatus in 2009, Ducati were desperate to resign Casey Stoner to their MotoGP effort offering him a contract extension in November 2009 that he ultimately rejected.

On Friday, March 4th Ducati fans will converge on Bologna to ensure the factory Ducati MotoGP squad get an adequate send off as they prepare to do battle at the opening round of the World Championship at Qatar, Losail on March 20th.

In a video as part of their coverage of the Ducati Diavel press launch in Marbella, Spain MCN magazine declared the Diavel to be the Fireblade of the Cruiser class. This is a reference to the 1992 Honda CBR900RR Fireblade which transformed the open class sports-bike segment with its combination of light weight and performance.

A Ducati fan has used the skills of his company to create a fitting tribute to Casey Stoner by modeling his Ducati Desmosedici GP8 in 3D. The 2008 model carries the #1 plate recognizing Stoner’s stunning championship victory in the 2007 MotoGP World Championship.
