Wallpaper Wednesday: 2011 Ducati Monster 1100EVO
Welcome to Wallpaper Wednesday. Every week (or not) I will post up something beautiful from the world of Ducati that you just might like to have grace your desktop. This week we have the newly announced Ducati Monster 1100EVO.
The Monster 1100EVO is powered by what is being termed the Desmodue Evoluzione engine which is the first two-valve Ducati to hit 100 bhp. The 1078cc Twin has been tuned in order to increase both volumetric and combustion efficiency.
Another obvious change is the switch back to twin side exit exhausts last seen on the previous generation S2R model. The new exhaust features a revised 2-1-2 routing with twin low level cannon-style, vertically stacked silencers placed on the right side.
ABS is included as standard equipment and this is joined by traction control for the first time on a Monster (quite why it is needed is another matter). The system offers a choice of four profiles, each one programmed with a wheel-spin tolerance matched to progressive riding levels of skill graded from one to four. While level four administers a confidence-building, high level of interaction from the system by activating upon the slightest amount of wheel-spin, level one offers a much higher tolerance and, therefore, much less intervention for highly competent riders.
