Despite only being launched in April 2010, almost 1 in every 4 new Ducatis sold last year was a Multistrada 1200. The Bologna entry in the Soft Roader market was a resounding sales success for Ducati showing that the company’s bets on product development and investment in a challenging economy paid off.

Factory withdrawal or no, Ducati still featured at the top of the time charts at the end of the first day of official testing for the World Superbike Championship yesterday in Portimao, Portgual. Well known fast lap specialist, Jacob Smrz took the honors with Althea Ducati’s, Carlos Checa in 5th.

Valentino Rossi took to the track at Misano today on board a Ducati 1198SP streetbike just days before the official MotoGP pre-season tests begin next Tuesday in Sepang, Malaysia. Valentino Rossi is in a race against time to achieve race fitness as the MotoGP testing season looms. Rossi’s shoulder surgery revealed much more damage than was expected and the GOAT himself is already talking down fan expectations of his debut on the Ducati Desmosedici, saying it could be May before he is fully fit.
