Happy Birthday Ducati Chile

Ducati Chile 300x200 Happy Birthday Ducati Chile

There are Ducatisti the world over and this month, Ducati Chile turns one.  The first official Ducati dealership was opened in Chile on December 2009.  Chile was the sixth market in Latin America where the Bologna delights have been presented, behind Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia and Venezuela.

The grand opening of Ducati Chile was a great event  charged with emotion. Chile is a small market, but with some peculiar characteristics, where premium brands are present such as Aston Martin, Ferrari, Lotus, MV Agusta, Bimota, etc…  The opening was with the complete Ducati range: Superbikes (848, 1198, 1198S, 3 1198 Corse Edition, 2 Limited Edition Troy Bayliss 1098 and 1 D16RR); Monsters (696, 1100 and 1100S); Hypermotards (796, 1100 and 1100 EVO SP) and the Streetfighter (normal and S version).

The expectation was to sell around 50 bikes during first year, but the reception of Chilean market was even greater than anticipated with General Manager Gonzalo and his team selling 85 bikes.  Included in the mix have been some of the premium models such as the Desmosedici D16RR, 2 Limited Edition Troy Bayliss 1098R’s,  and 3 1198 Corse Edition. The most successful model in Chile is the new Multistrada 1200.

One of the highlights of the year was when Ducati Chile took a group of 15 customers in July 2010 to a Ducati Riding Experiene (DRE) at Imola (incredible experience!), then we visiting the factory at Borgo Panigale along the way and attending the World Superbike racing in Misano and the MotoGP at Cataluña.

Congratulations Ducati Chile and Happy Birthday!

  1. Cool! Would like to see a Ducati store open in Mexico too

  2. Just to let you know that Ducati has already a representation in Mexico, not just an importer, so there are seven markets incluiding Mexico, not six.

    Cheers,
    Edgar.

  3. @Edgar Thanks for the info!
