Valentino Rossi’s chief engineer, Jeremy Burgess has cautioned the naysayers who were disappointed in the results of the Italian’s first outing on the Ducati MotoGP racer at the recent Valencia post season test. Rossi ended the test 15th fastest and second slowest Ducati ahead of only rookie Karel Abraham.

As had been expected AMG, the performance division of Mercedes has announced that the company will sponsor the Ducati MotoGP team in 2011. The marketing deal is designed to take advantage of similar brand profiles emphasizing speed, handling and style despite the fact that both brands are caricatures of their national identities.

Ducati fans in Valencia took some moments during Sunday’s final MotoGP of the season to thank Casey Stoner on his last ever outing on the fearsome red Ducati Desmosedici.
