Nicky Hayden looked set to cap off a much stronger second MotoGP season with Ducati at the final race of year at Valencia yesterday before he slid off whilst running at the sharp end early on in the race. Inadvertently he ended up creating what looks like his own custom version of the Ducati Diavel out of his factory Marlboro Ducati Desmosedici GP10.
Check out the raked out forks and the chop job on the rear subframe assembly and you can see that Nicky might be trying to show he has more skills in his armory than just racing! The crash cost Nicky 6th in the championship as fellow American Ben Spies took the position after finishing 4th in the race.
Nicky took the crash philosophically posting on his Twitter feed -
“If you gonna crash out big, do it while you’re up front!”

Next season Hayden will continue on with Ducati and team up with new recruit Valentino Rossi. You may have heard of him!
