Will Ducati Reveal a Streetfighter 848?
As we all await the new Ducati Diavel, Ducati promises plenty of surprises at the EICMA show next month. Ducati News Today is calling for a Ducati 848 Streetfighter!
In a release on its website, Ducati has reiterated its intent to reveal the Ducati Diavel for the first time at next month’s EICMA motorcycle show in Milan which begins on November 2nd for the press. Ducati has already stolen a lot of its own thunder for this major show after unveiling the majority of its range at the recent Intermot show in Cologne.
Nevertheless, Ducati is quick to point out, that there will be more to the Milan show than the Diavel.
As already announced Ducati will be presenting – for the very first time – the long-awaited Diavel, plus the entire 2011 range, already unveiled at the Cologne fair in Germany a few weeks ago. But don’t worry, there will still be plenty of surprises…

In our 2011 Ducati Model Lineup predictions, Ducati News Today called for the introduction of a Ducati Streetfighter 848, coupling the 848EVO engine with the Streetfighter chassis to create a modern interpretation of the the now defunct Monster S4RS. At least in the USA, the discontinuation of the Monster 1100S model creates some pricing room. We’d suggest $12,495.
To be clear, we don’t have any intel on this, just speculation but we did successfully call the introduction of DTC on the base model 1198 and the inclusion of the aluminum tank on the higher spec SP model!
What do you think? Would you like to see a junior Streetfighter model?

Making a smaller streetfighter might seem like a good idea but it looked like a good idea at the time to make a 620 Multistrada also! It was a very nice bike but did not sell?! If you want a streetfighter don’t you want it as bad as possible?
The only way a smaller Streetfighter would work is if they also make it lower. It is unfortunate that the 1098 has the correct seat hight for shorter riders (like myself) but the current SF doesn’t. Even I had all the cash in the world, I could not buy a SF because at its lowest height my toes with riding boots are barely touching the ground.
Who knows if a Streetfighter 848 will have a lower seat height. If it does, I would definitely go for one and I am sure a lot people would think the same.
I hope they put the 848 in a Multistrada type bike without the funky nose. BMW has the 800 and Triumph has it’s 800 Tiger. Or maybe they are going to give us a touring version of the Hypermotard not unlike KTMs 990smt.
Didn’t you guys speculate this last year too?
But if they do, I am getting one right away!
@sawfish, yes!
[...] are running with this new model…..they are predicting a new real ease at EICMA next month: Will Ducati Reveal a Streetfighter 848? | Ducati News Today [...]
WHO CARES IF THEY DO OR DON’T!! Ducati should ONLY be making Superbikes.
@ Ducracerx: And who’s gonna buy them? 3 people?
@Ducracerx If they did, they’d be out of business. The reign of the Superbike on the road is over.
If Ducati announced an 848 Streetfighter, I would be at my local dealer with cash in hand, ready to buy. It’d be the perfect bike for me.
The SF has the looks I want, the upright riding position I like, but I just plain don’t need 1098 power on the street. I rode an 848 and loved the engine and wish I could’ve melded it with the current SF. It’s gotta be just right. An 848 Streetfighter is the answer.
Any word on ducati releasing this bike? Them releasing the M1100 evo doesn’t makes it seem less likely, unfortunately!
@samistovich No, it looks like the model isn’t coming…yet!
Drama, excitement, Ducati announces the 848 SF on Friday before the show opens to the public? BTW, what’s with that V4 Tuono? Does Tuono mean ugly in Italian?
