Production Ready Ducati Diavel Spotted in the Wild
As we edge ever closer to the official unveiling of the Ducati Diavel Power Cruiser next month at the EICMA show in Milan, we have our first taste of a production ready Diavel thanks to the Motoblog.it (English translation). It looks a whole lot better than the camouflaged mules we have previously seen but the exercise remains a gamble on the strength of the Ducati brand on the one hand and the forgiveness of the Ducastisti on the other.

This is almost as bad as Porsche producing the Cayenne and Panamera… I just wonder if the trick will work for Ducati the way it has for Porsche — will it sell?

Although I would never consider buying one on these, I have no problem with Ducati branching out into new markets.
They tried to compete with Harley in the 50s with the Apollo V4, so this is not exactly unprecedented.
@fidens. The Apollo project was never commercialized and the Indiana custom was a failure. Let’s hope third times a charm!
@Dan. Probably will in my estimation. Any lasting damage will be to the brand. You have to ask young school children to see that effect! I used to think Porsche was an awesome aspirational sports car maker, now I see them as almost interchangeable with BMW and other more mainstream manufacturers or pricey vehicles
