Ducati Reveals 2011 Superbikes – 1198 and 1198SP
Pretty much as we predicted on Monday, Ducati today unveiled its 2011 Superbike range which includes the 1198SP that was leaked yesterday and an upgraded 1198 spec designed to get the aging model through one more season before the radical new 2012 bike lands.
The 1198SP replaces the current S model and takes the larger but lighter aluminum tank from the 1198S Corse SE as we predicted and adds a slipper clutch, quick shifter and a trick Ohlins TTX rear shock for just $100 more than the current S model.
The base 1198 gains DTC as standard (we called it again) with the requisite DDA data analyzer so you can amaze your friends with how much full throttle you had at your next track day. It also includes the quick shifter. We’ll have full details with the US specs and colors for our US readers later today.
