Ducati Diavel Prototype Fully Revealed!!

Ducati Diavel Prototype 2 branded thumb1 Ducati Diavel Prototype Fully Revealed!!We’ll refrain from claiming scoop like every other site but these are pretty special nevertheless.  A reader sent us these photos of what looks to be an early prototype of the new Ducati Diavel that Ducati will reveal next month in Milan at the EICMA show. Taken almost 18 months ago in Los Angeles, the bike was being crated up for a trip back to Europe.

Ducati Diavel Prototype 1 branded thumb1 Ducati Diavel Prototype Fully Revealed!!According to our source, the bike had been in the US to have a custom swing arm fitted before heading back to Europe. The non running machine had only exhaust headers fitted. Presumably the machine was an early prototype or perhaps a customized model Ducati wanted to create.

The headlight is smaller on this bike and a front mounted radiator is shrouded in mesh. The tail section is different and clearly has a single seat cover over the pillion pad. An Ohlins rear shock is in evidence. The blacked out engine based on the Testastretta 11º powerplant in the Multistrada 1200 is clearly on show and looks good!

  2. I think this is a custom work not a series motorcycle.
It would explain the RSD wheels, the absence of mirrors, the odd handlebar, the mushrooms, and lots of details that look like a very well made custom work.
Its not like Ducati to use an odd face like that (not after the Multistrada&999 experience)

  3. I am a Big Fan of RSD but not what He did here, Would be interested in seeing what He did with the exhaust though, too bad none form other side.

  5. Good to know, I am really wondering if pipe Under the seat will be possible on the New Bike or if there is “Cruiser Type” movement in the rear suspension making it impossible.
