A photo of the 2011 Ducati 1198SP was snapped and released just a day before the 2010 Intermot show kicks off for the press. Reportedly the bike will be priced close to the current 1198S but adds the aluminum tank from the Corse SE model (not so relevant with Ducati pulling its factory World Superbike team), a slipper clutch and the über trick Ohlins TTX shock from the 1198R. Sweet way to raid the parts bin!!
Our sources also tell us the bike will come with a quick shifter as standard. Just the thing for trackdays! This upgrade for more or less no charge is expected as the 1198 range continues for one more year largely unchanged as Ducati work furiously on its entirely new Superbike model for 2012. The Ducati Diavel is expected to be revealed not at this show but next months EICMA in Milan.
