The Ducati Diavel Already Exists!
While Ducastisti all over the world debate the merits or otherwise of Ducati producing a power cruiser which is claimed to be named the Diavel, in Germany clever and capable minds have already produced something similar in concept. Diavel meet the DucChopper!
The DucChopper is the work of a German designer and Ducati hobby racer. The concept called for an extremely sporty, but cool looking bike Ducati powered bike that had the soul of a racer. The style is reminiscent of a drag racer but aside from the raked out front end appear to be closely based on the Ducati Monster S4Rs. The riding position is essentially similar to a Superbike but with flat bars and the rider much lower overall.
Because of the challenging targets, and to meet the technical requirements, a number of Ducati specialists got involved, to help find and work out the optimal solutions. Two prototypes are now running with Testastretta engines but air-cooled power is also being considered for the future. The first bikes were in track only spec but the production version will have all street equipment. Two dealers have been appointed in Germany.
