Steve Jones Ducati Hypermotard Special
Steve Jones is famous for being the founding member of the Sex Pistols but these days his energy and passion goes into motorcycles. This is is personal ride, a custom Ducati Hypermotard 1100.
The work was done by David Bingham, a west coast Ducati specialist who limited his work to a cosmetic makeover.
“It came in looking like it’d had a few well-intentioned bolt-ons installed. But all from different sources, and with anodizing that was in various shades and states of fade. Most of what I did was cosmetic since it’s a daily driver—and the Hypermotard 1100 has enough power for that use as is.”

After shortening the subframe, cleaning up visible brackets and installing a custom seat and exhaust the black machine (the forks are ‘Sniper Grey’) has a dark brooding minimalism which is quite arresting.
