Hayden Gets Down and Dirty on Indy Mile
After qualifying 3rd for last weekend’s Indianapolis round of the MotoGP championship, Marlboro Ducati’s Nicky Hayden thrilled the crowd at the Indy mile by making some demonstration laps on the Llyoyd Brothers Ducati Flat Tracker.
Hayden borrowed Joe Kopp’s Hypermotard 1100EVO powered tracker that won Ducati’s first ever Grand National Flat Track victory earlier this year and thrilled the crowd. Hayden lapped fast enough in just 3 circuits to have qualified mid-field! Hayden’s fine form however didn’t translate through to Sunday’s MotoGP race.
An altercation with a drainage ditch on the side of the tack tore off his knee slider and made the race difficult. Hayden finished 6th whilst team mate Casey Stoner crashed out.
