Ex-Ducati’s Lock Makes Electric Shock Move
Former Ducati North America CEO, Michael Lock hasn’t taken too long to ‘pursue other opportunities’ after the surprise announcement just weeks ago that he was leaving Ducati following a very successful tenure. Lock is to swap 2 high performance wheels for 4 mild ones in his new role as Global Marketing and Strategy Director for nascent electric car maker Think.
Lock was associated with a strong performance for Ducati in North America with increases in market share and customer satisfaction even with the difficulties of the recent financial crisis which hit the US motorcycle industry particularly hard.
THINK proclaims themselves as a pioneer in electric vehicles and a leader in electric vehicle technology, developed and proven over the last 19 years. They claim to be one of the few companies that has a ‘ready-to-market’ fully electric vehicle – the THINK City.
“I am delighted to be joining the pioneering team at THINK at an embryonic phase in this exciting new industry,” commented Lock. “THINK has some of the most sophisticated electric vehicle technology on the market, with potential to become a household name as demand for EVs grows in cities all over the world. I am encouraged by the initial customer response to the THINK City, and believe this is a solid foundation for growth as the company embarks on a focused roll-out of its first urban offering, and plans for future vehicle generations.”

Think is about to launch its two-seat, electric Think City car globally and is working on several future models. Lock will relocate to Oslo, Norway to take up his new role.
