Casey Stoner Tribute Ducati 1198S Special
We were doubly impressed when Casey Stoner won at his home MotoGP on the Ducati Desmosedici GP9 last year at Phillip Island, Australia. Not only was the victory an emphatic one after his absence from competition due to what later was realized to be lactose intolerance, he did it in style with a special white custom color scheme. Now a French Ducati dealer has created their own Ducati 1198S Stoner replica.
The bike is a fitting tribute to the achievements of Stoner with Ducati who took the 2007 MotoGP crown and recorded 20 victories. Stoner will ride for HRC next year. Ducati Metz in France took the white livery which looked so stunning on the GP bike and applied it to the Ducati 1198S with a ¢1,900 custom paint job. To this was added a full 70mm titanium Termignoni exhaust system and various accoutrements from the Ducati Performance catalogue.
The complete bike is available for ¢24,990 which seems a not unreasonable premium over the standard bike’s 21,990 price given the added goodies.
