Welcome to Wallpaper Wednesday. Every week I will post up something beautiful from the world of Ducati that you just might like to have grace your desktop. This week we have the newly released Ducati 848EVO in the delectable Dark flavor.

Ducati has given the baby Superbike a nice and timely upgrade for 2011. All new cylinder heads, pistons, throttle bodies and camshafts combine to give 6 more bhp for 140hp @ 10,500rpm and 72.3 lb/ft of torque @9,750rpm. That’s as much as the old 999 produced.

All of this is wrapped in the same chassis but a cross mounted steering damper has been added along with a massive upgrade to the braking system in the form of Brembo Monobloc calipers (same as 1198). The Dark model is now all black and continues to be a bargain as it sells for $1,000 less than the otherwise identical $13,995 red model. Lovely.
