Lost in Translation: Hayden Claims No Dissing of his Team mate

photo 1 thumb Lost in Translation: Hayden Claims No Dissing of his Team mateMarlboro Ducati rider Nicky Hayden managed to get himself in a minor MotoGP scandal when Gazzetta dello Sport claimed he said “it was a bit shameful” for Casey Stoner to leave Ducati after it had done so much for his career.

Asked about it by the press at Laguna Seca, Hayden denied making any such comment suggesting it could be all down to a misunderstanding or simply the usual attempt at tempting headlines which is a fond past time of the Italian motorcycling media.

“Maybe it was just a translation,” Hayden said, but he made it clear he was aware that words can get twisted to suit the ends of the media. “Maybe the journalist is looking to sell a few more magazines, because I mean, [Casey] knows me, I wouldn’t make a comment like that, that’s not my business,” Hayden explained. “You know I would like to say something got lost in translation, but I think they’re just trying to make a headline.”

Nicky said he meant to say it was just a shame Stoner is leaving since the two riders had a good working relationship inside of the Italian factory and obviously the partnership has been successful with the inaugural 800cc MotoGP title to show for it going to Casey in 2007 along with many victories.

Nicky is feeling very happy with his progress this season and his fit with the team and talks about a 3rd season in 2011 are well advanced.
