Artist Celebrates a Decade of Ducati Domination
The World Superbike Championship story is inextricably linked with the explosion of Ducati onto the scene as the small volume manufacturer that took on the might of the Japanese factories and there almost limitless resources and came out on top. Artist David Bill has created a fabulous oil painting celebrating the 8 Championship victories in the 1990′s and the men and machines that earned them. A limited edition print is available and one lucky purchaser will receive the original, valued at ~$16,000!
The print celebrates the Ducati 888, 916 model motorcycles and the men (Raymond Roche, Doug Polen, Troy Corser and four times World Superbike champion Carl ‘Foggy’ Fogarty) who rode Ducati’s iconic motorcycles to eight World Superbike championship victories through the 1990′s and turned the Ducati factory and it’s motorcycles into a world respected marque through it’s dominance of the World Superbike Championship. The original painting took Billy 3 months to produce and the attention to detail on the Ducati Motorcycles and the World Superbike riders is stunning as you can see in the closeups below.
The print run is limited to 1,000 signed copies and just by buying it customers will automatically be entered into a draw for the original World Superbike celebration oil on canvas painting. When the edition sells out a number will be drawn from the print run edition and the owner of that print number will be contacted and will receive the original valued at $16,000.
The prints cost $80 with free shipping and are available direct from ‘Billy’s’ website.
