Ducati 848 MN0310 328 thumb Ducati 848 Ready for Challenge SeriesDucati’s 848 Superbike came through its first practice session for the Ducati 848 Challenge race series with flying colours at a test day at Brands Hatch. As part of the promotion for the new, one make series a VIP machine will be ridden by journalists and celebrities at each of the rounds.

MCN senior road tester Michael Neeves rode the bike at a recent Brands Hatch trackday and notes that the Ducati 848 likes to be ridden in a style similar to typical supersport or 250GP bikes, with wide, sweeping lines and lots of corner speed.

“The power delivery is friendly and predicatble, and allied to the excellent handling, means it’s easy to ride hard and that will ensure close racing across the field”.

Neeves has been confirmed as one of the riders in the new for 2010 series, which is all set to start at Silverstone on 25 April and take in four UK club events, two televised BSB rounds at Oulton Park and Brands Hatch, plus a trip to Assen and Misano to race in front of over 50,000 Ducati fans.
