1974 Ducati 750 Sport Desmo Special

This beautiful machine was based on a 750GT which had a valve spring engine and a some point upgraded to a tuned Desmo engine with over 80bhp at the wheel!

To me, the older Ducatis have an elegance all of their own, born from a simpler time when beauty came from a purity of functional rather than design per se. They look even better when like this one, they have most of the tacked on road parts like indicator sand mirrors removed!

It turns out that it’s a rare 1974 Ducati 750 Sport Desmo Special owned by Mike Cecchini of Maryland, USA, a well-known name in Ducati circles. His café racer took out the ‘Wild Card Judges Pick’ at the 2007 Ducati Superbike Concorso held at Laguna Seca, probably because there’s more to this bike than first meets the eye.
