Wallpaper Wednesday: Bimota DB8
Welcome to Wallpaper Wednesday. Every week I will post up something beautiful from the world of Ducati that you just might like to have grace your desktop. This week we have the newest Ducati powered Bimota, the DB8.
Bimota produces some of the world’s most desirable motorcycles and many of the recent ones have been Ducati powered. The superlative DB7 which many prefer over the 1198R has had only one drawback on paper – the lack of the latest 1199cc engine. The new DB8 corrects this, but perhaps not in the manner you might expect. Far from being a DB7R, the DB8 is in effect a lower priced (~$33,000), more mass market machine (my apologies for using the phrase ‘mass market’ in the same sentence as the name ‘Bimota’).
The DB8 is a little heavier due to a steel rather titanium exhaust and plastic rather than carbon fiber bodywork. It also has another seat so someone special can ride with you. One thing hasn’t changed. It is still beautiful in basic white!
