Gorgeous 1966 Ducati 350SC Factory Racer
For sale now in the UK is perhaps one of the rarest of all Ducatis. Only 6 Ducati 350SC’s (Sport Corsa) were ever built and this one was raced by Franco Farne in South Africa. This 1966 SC is a hand built racing machine that weighs just 117kg (257lbs) but could hit 124mph. And its gorgeous!
The 350SC was separated from the more humble production machines on which it was based by a twin cradle frame, special forks and sand cast engine cases which enclosed a close ratio 5 speed gearbox.
This particular bike’s covered no miles since it was rebuilt some years ago by very well known and respected Ducati race engine builder Anthony Ainslee using new factory rod and straight cut upper bevel set, (good second hand piston and some other parts are included in the sale).

As racers they didn’t offer any real advantage over the Mark 3 and Mach 1 which were cheaper and lighter. However this is a rare, works Ducati and the aforementioned roadsters were not. Ian Falloon author of ‘The Standard Catalogue of Ducati Motorcycles‘ believes the 250/350SCs are some of the most desirable of Ducatis.
Although not well documented, today they stand out as some of the most desirable Ducatis of the 1960s.
This rare, genuine works Ducati machine could be yours for £33,000 (~$51,000 as current FX rates). Buy it and simply stare at it. More images are available at Made in Italy Motorcyles.
