Welcome to Wallpaper Wednesday. Every week I will post up something beautiful from the world of Ducati that you just might like to have grace your desktop. This week we have one of the all time classic single cylinder machines, the 1965 Ducati 250 Mach 1.

Long before Ducati became famous for it’s V-twins, Ducati was known for making beautiful single cylinder machines. This 1965 Ducati 250 Mach 1 is one of the so-called narrow case singles. The Mach 1 was not only beautiful but fast. Here is a 45 year old 250cc bike that could hit 106mph and produced 28bhp at 8,500rpm. It wouldn’t however reach the 150mph marked on the highly ambitious Veglia speedometer! It has elements we can recognize in modern Ducati today, like the clip-on bars and rear-set pegs and light weight – the Mach 1 only weighed 255lbs (116kg).
