05 thumb Ducati Multistrada 1200 Tech SpecsDucati has announced details of its new 2010 Ducati Multistrada 1200. The 150bhp bike is being positioned as 4 bikes in one – A sport bike, long-distance tourer, urban and road enduro. Three basic models will me marketed – 1200 base, 1200s Sport and 1200s Touring. Both of these latter models feature Ducati’s new Electronic Suspension (DES).

The whole range is powered by the new Testastretta 11° engine, a variant of the 1198 powerplant which produces 150bhp. All models feature a slipper clutch. The base model weighs in at 423lb (192kg) dry with the S models weighing 6lbs more.

The base model has a 50mm Marzocchi fork whereas the S models have 48mm Ohlins front ends with electronically adjustable compression and rebound damping. The 1200s Sport model is equipped with carbon fibre components such as cam belt covers, air intakes and hugger. In addition, standard equipment on the the S version of the Multistrada includes the innovative DES system (Ducati Electronic Suspension) that electronically adjusts the Öhlins suspsension and ABS.

The Multistrada 1200s Touring’s comfort and style is enhanced with side panniers, heated grips and centre stand. This model also includes the DES system that electronically adjusts the Öhlins suspsension and ABS.

A control on the bars allows different settings to control suspension, engine mapping, ABS and traction control.

The base model is available in Red and White whereas the Sport and Touring models are also available in black. The frame is grey and the wheels black on all models.
