Spy Photos of Hi-Tech Ducati Strada Aperta Dash
As the Milan EICMA show rapidly approaches higher quality spy photos are appearing of the 2010 Ducati Adventure tourer / Multistrada which will be known as the Strada Aperta (‘Open Road’). The latest show off the hi-tech digital dash which shows no detail when the key is off.
The hi-tech approach is bracketed by very practical storage bins and a manual adjuster to raise and lower the screen height. The Ducati Strada Aperta will feature a slightly de-tuned 140bhp version 1098 engine as used in the Ducati Streetfighter and will cash in on the growing market for Adventure tourer machines that are still fundamentally road biased. In this way it will compete with the Triumph Tiger and the KTM 950SMT rather than the much heavier, less powerful but more capable off-road BMW GS range. Similarly it also convenient acts as replacement path for Ducati Multistrada owners.
The new close-up shot from the front suggests the very ugly snorkels are part of the disguise and won’t feature on the production machine. The new for 2010 model will be formally unveiled at the EICMA show in Milan next month.
