World Superbike star Régis Laconi will make his first public appearance in the paddock since his horrific practice crash at Kyalami, South Africa in May. Laconi is still mending but contrary to recent speculation he has resumed training with the intention to return to racing.
Laconi suffered a severe cervical veterbrae trauma in a crash that occurred during the first lap of the opening practice session for the Kyalami round of the World Superbike Championships in May. The French star slammed into a wall traveling 12mph faster than any other Ducati rider and underwent surgery to stabilize two fractured cervical veterbrae after being placed in a pharmacological coma.
In July rumors were circulating that he would hang up his leathers for good but the popular star now seems intent on returning to racing.
