New Ducati Hypermotard 796 for 2010
It looks like for 2010 the Hypermotard family will grow to include a smaller sibling in a similar vein to the Monster family. Reports indicate that Ducati is planning to introduce a Hypermotard 796 at the EICMA show this November.
European sources suggest the press launch for the new model will be held on October 12th and that despite the 796 moniker, the engine will indeed be the 696 as seen in the baby Monster. The Monster 696 claims 80bhp, just 10 less than the 1100 engine but of course has a lot less torque making it more suitable and less intimidating for less experienced riders. the bike will of course be considerable less expensive than bigger brother too but no word yet on expected pricing.
The model is scheduled for a launch at the EICMA show in Milan on November 10-15th along with the Ducati Strada Aperta adventure tourer. As for a name for the little one, Hypomotard anyone?
