Web Gems: MotoGPMatters.com
There are a plethora of sites on the web that cover motorcycling racing but few have the consistent quality and thoughtful insight of today’s web gem, MotoGPMatters.com
David Emmett’s passion for MotoGP racing comes through on his site, MotoGPMatters. He covers not only MotoGP but also World Superbike racing and he does it from the press area of the racetracks in many cases. The site is consistently of a high quality and often contains posts that are off the mainstream meme of the moment. An good example is his interview with Randy De Puniet, reminding many that the hitherto crash prone Frenchman is having a great season so far this year, even before his recent Donington podium.
The site also covers some of the more political aspects of the sport, such as the current low grid turn out crisis and the various proposals to do something about it which include a farcical, my view, plan to utilize 1,000cc production based engines in bespoke chassis a la Moto2.
In any event, MotoGPMatters is a must read for fans of the highest level of road racing and that is why it is this week’s Web Gem.
