At the time ducatinewstoday reported how Bayliss enjoyed the event and how the team were impressed with his control and precision but not that he was just 2/10ths of second slower than a 3 time Australian V8 Supercar champion.

Now it has been revealed on the official Ducati blog (English translation) that Bayliss in fact lapped just 0.2 seconds slower than Craig Lowndes in the Vodafone Ford at Queensland Raceway in Australia.

My overall goal is to be able to drive in some Supercar enduro events such as the race at Phillip Island or the famous one at Bathurst circuit. Time will tell but it seems to be heading in the right direction and there is more than one team that may have an opportunity for me so we will see…
