Ducati Chasing Lorenzo for 2010?
Rumors continue to emanate from Italy that Ducati is chasing Yamaha star, Jorge Lorenzo, to ride the factory Ducati MotoGP bike in 2010.
Lorenzo has been the hot ticket this season but has seen his plans to improve his negotiating position with Yamaha by openly coveting Honda blunted by crashes and finishes behind Valentino Rossi in recent rounds. At Brno, Honda announced they had no interest in him for the short term. Now Ducati may be interested in him as they are desperate to hedge against the possibility that Casey Stoner’s mystery illness will prevent him from being competitive in the future.
Visordown reports that allegedly Phillip Morris, owners of Marlboro have offered Lorenzo a seven-million euro a year contract to ride the Desmosedici in 2010 with all likelihood that he would pair up with Stoner.
