The bike was hurriedly prepared for the Springfield Mile event for local racer Kurt Marmor and only turned a wheel for the first time the day before the event. Not surprisingly with everything barely completed in time the dream debut wasn’t to be and it failed to qualify for the final but the bike showed it has some potential. It sounds good on the dyno!
The 749 engine is nestled in a one-off J&M rolling chassis and has been converted to carburetor fueling. During the race event a problem with the rear suspension caused a shimmy at speed that was diagnosed too late to make the final.
Pegram qualified for the final but crashed in the main event due to a leak from an oil line but was unhurt.
