Wallpaper Wednesday: Ducati Desmosedici GP9 MotoGP Racer
Welcome to Wallpaper Wednesday. Every week I will post up something beautiful from the world of Ducati that you just might like to have grace your desktop. This week we have the über Ducati, the 2009 Ducati Desmosedici GP09 MotoGP racer as raced by Marlboro Ducati factory riders Casey Stoner and Nicky Hayden.
Ducati seemed determined to go their own way in MotoGP. They maintain their signature desmodromic vdetmerinedalve system but this year have dropped the iconic trellis frame for a unique carbon fiber monocoque chassis along with a carbon fiber swingarm that may even eventually find its way to the street Superbike range. Casey Stoner is currently joint leader in the 2009 MotoGP Championship (along with Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo) and appears to be the only rider to master the supposedly recalcitrant Ducati. His team-mate, Nicky Hayden, is struggling on the bike although he did finish 10th in the most recent race in Barcelona.
