Every week I will post up something beautiful from the world of Ducati that you just might like to have grace your desktop. This week we have a special Ducati 750SS that belongs to none other than the Dan, the man behind Rare Sport Bikes For Sale that we reviewed earlier this year.

In 1993 Ducati introduced the baby brother to the 900SS, the 750SS. Almost identical to it’s larger sibling it featured a Pantah based crankcase with 5 speeds and a wet clutch versus the 851, 6-speed, dry clutch cases of the 900. Otherwise it was very similar save for a single front disc and unadjustable front suspension. The 750 was the purists choice, only available in red and with a half fairing.

The bike wasn’t powerful even by the standards of the day but the Pantah based powerplant with twin Mikuni flatslide carbs was a big improvement over the single Weber equipped Ducati 750 Sport and the bikes remain fun to ride on the street even today weighing in at around 388lbs. The styling is classic Ducati, pretty (without the fussiness that the later water-cooled bikes introduced) and timeless still fashionable 16 years later. That’s more than can be said for the editor!
