Ducati Sedici V8!
Sedici is the number sixteen in Italian. It usually refers to the MotoGP racer or the limited edition D16RR road bike, because each cylinder of the V4 contains 4 desmodromic valves, hence desmosedici. However there is another way to get to Sedici and that is with a 2-valve 868cc V-8!
Diter Hartmann Wirthwein says he is neither a writer nor a web designer but that is okay because he is talented and crazy enough to build a V8 Ducati in addition to a number of other projects described on his German language site (English translation).
His Ducati Elenore project is utilizing a 900SS rolling chassis and 8, 2-valve, cylinders with a bore and stroke of 56 and 44mm respectively for a total capacity of 868cc. There are scant details on his site but he hopes to complete the V-8 by the end of the year.
Put me down to watch the video when he fires this baby up!!
